Flower Power

If it wasn't obvious enough with the title, my favorite piece of this outfit is the blazer! I like funky things especially when the only cost me $2 at a thrift store! Yeah, I couldn't believe it either! :P

Tip: Look through racks very thoroughly--give every piece of clothing a chance to be seen with your eyes.
Thrift hard n thrift good ladies!

Also! I'm not sure how it is nationally but...the Salvation Army offers 50% off on Wednesdays! So go hide something in a totally irrelevant section until Wednesday if you're there on any other day! :P

Blazer: Salvation Army $2
Top: Nordstrom Rack $15
Necklace: Forever 21 $? (It's old!) probably $8-$10
Pants: H&M $15
Shoes: Charlotte Russe $? (Also old!) probably $20-$30

Tip 2: Don't throw away old heels that have a problem (i.e. broken heel), especially if they're a classic pair like these ones! Because these had the metal exposed on the heels and I couldn't walk with them! That was until I brought them to the local shoe doctor! Shoe repair stores have always been looked over to me but not anymore!! $9 to fix unwalkable heels and it's like having a new pair again since I haven't worn them in so long!

Bling-Bling!

I found this top in the ladies section...I've noticed lately when I go shopping, I feel somewhat torn between the juniors and ladies departments.
This may sound foolish but...is there a specific time when you're supposed to make headway into a new department? The obvious is that you're growing older, more mature and change of styles and tastes are always abound. But then when is it not okay to move backwards? I mean, I'm 24--I think it's alright to move between these two departments, right? Lol. I guess until someone either tells me I'm dressing too young for my age or people start giving me the "What is she wearing" look XD

Top: TJ Maxx (Ralph Lauren) $40
Bottoms: Rainbow $20
Shoes: Flea market $5
Necklace: Jewelry stand at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino $130

Aztec Love

I bought this sweater at Urban Outfitters about a year ago. It was on the clearance rack for $10!!! AND IT HAS POCKETS! I love stuff with pockets...because I have a love-hate relationship with holding purses!

I love the colors in the sweater, they're my main pop appeal and it's not too thick or thin!

Everyone needs a sweater they can rely on, and this is mine.

Sweater: Urban Outfitters $10
Pants: H&M $15
Hat: H&M $12
Shoes: So old I can't remember but I'm going to give a guess of $20
Necklace: H&M $7

Total: Around $65 :P

Definitely got a little excited from this :D

Clearwater Beach Uncorked: Food & Wine Festival with Monzzz!
A little late in posting since it was on Oct. 17, 2012!
It was so much fun! And who can pass up free food and wine?! (My friend worked for the event and we snagged some free tix, beats paying $85/ticket! ha)

Annnyway, I wasn't 100% sure on how to dress for the occasion considering it was being held under a tent in the sand/on the beach aaaand how classy/upscale or downscale it was going to be. So, I wore an outfit that I felt was bisexual haha or rather could go either way :P

The first photo lacks the blazer and has a different necklace than the one I actually wore---my mom gave me the one I wore (gold chain links) for my birthday and I thought to wear it after I already took the first photo.

So0ooo...for the outfit breakdown:

Blazer: H&M $40
Top: Nordstrom Rack $15
Bottoms: Nordstrom Rack $27
Shoes: Fleamarket $5
Watch: Macy's (Style & Co.) $30
Bracelets: Aldo $12
Necklace (1st photo): H&M $7
Necklace (worn--gold chain links): Gift from my Mamaaa but she got it at the jewelry stand @ the Seminole Hard Rock Casino--$130

Total: Between $136 - $259, depending on which necklace :P

Skull & Bold

I must say, I got pretty lucky finding this sheer black top with skulls on it that perfectly matches the skull necklace I have! :D
Lovin' on the bold and bright colored blazers I've been seeing around! Also the black & gold accessories trend.

Tip: I have a shortish torso, I think wearing high waisted pants (at least enough to cover your bellybutton) gives a longer effect on the body--longer legs, holla! Plus I don't like how bellybuttons look when revealed through a sheer top, that may just be my personal opinion and I may just be weird like that but yeahhhh ;)

Top: TJ Maxx $13
Blazer: H&M $40
Pants: H&M $15
Necklace: Plato's Closet $6
Purse: H&M $15
Shoes: Store @ University Square Mall $30

Total:  $119

Dalmatian Days

Woof woof! :3
I found it difficult to use this red bowtie without looking like I work for a catering company or at a movie theater...or something to that nature, instead, I look like a dalmatian human ;)

Lovin' on these collars that have been poppin up on many tops! Just don't pop it Jersey style...lol :P

Top: TJ Maxx $13
Bottoms: Ross $15
Shoes: Some shoe store @ University Square Mall $30
Bowtie: Vintage store, NYC $5
Earrings: Salvation Army $3

Sequentially Laid Back

Top: TJ Maxx $20
Bottoms: Charlotte Russe (I forget $ because they olddd!)
Glasses: Some stand on St. Marks in East Village, NYC $7
Necklace: An oldie goodie
Watch: Some stand in Chinatown, NYC $5
Boots: Rainbow $30

Total: Around $80 ish :P

This is a simple, casual outfit but what I love most about it is the mixture of textures (top & bottoms). Doing so always makes for a more interesting canvas. I'm also kind of obsessed with textures XD from food to clothes!

Another obsession of mine is the need to match my jewelry--here it's got a theme of all black and silver, which I think complements well with the color palette of the outfit.

It's all in the details people! ;)

Rawr

Aww look! They franzzz! :P
First things first--I LOVE THESE PANTS...and I especially love how I found a ring friend to match the print haha :P

This outfit was helped put together during a photo shoot I had with Darryl Richardson (www.drichphotography.com)--I thought it was an unusually surprising yet refreshing combination. I rarely wear white or any close variation to it and I feel like that's a factor as to why I thought that,..since when the pants were purchased, automatic thought that came to mind was something like "oo0oo I'll wear my sheer black tank with the long coat tail" ...which would still look good but! no more rambles---point is: it's nice break out from what you're used to! Tip that could be applied to many aspects of life ;)

Trending: Colorful Coats!

I bought this coat a few years ago at Forever 21 and it's in just as good as shape as when I purchased it, with the exception of a couple loose buttons but that's an easy fix :P

Fashion is always in a cycle and really, many fall/winter coats are classic looks--how many different ways can you really design a coat, ya know? I'm glad I still have this one though!

Tip: If you want to revamp an old coat (maybe you're missing a button or two and can't find the ones it came with?) Just get yourself to a local craft store like Michael's or Joann's Fabrics and buy a new set of buttons! (Sometimes you can even find them at thrift/antique stores, I once found an entire jar of awesome ones for less than $5!!!)

Also, make sure to bring your coat with you to see if they complement well with the coat and that they fit in the designated button hole! It's such a cheap and easy way to refresh an old item!
